James Harlan LaFave, 57
Dan McClelland
James (Jim) Harlan LaFave, 57, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
He was born to Harlan and Theresa (Delair) LaFave on March 14, 1959 in Tupper Lake.
Although a private person, Jim was a helpful, generous and loyal friend to those he loved and cared for. He was a carpenter, woodworker, diehard Denver Broncos fan (through thick and thin), nature and animal lover- as well as, a dedicated son, brother and uncle and he always had his children in his heart.
He loved pizza, steak, burgers and fries and ice cream. Once a short order chef, he loved cooking for his family- and his specialty was prime rib. Jim had a passion for life that was expressed through his excellent photography. He spent hours in the woods looking for the perfect photo op and at the same time, enjoying solitude.
He is survived by his mom, Theresa, sisters; Lori, Lisa, Darcy, one son Kyle James, a daughter, Amber Rose, nephews Dan and Colton, nieces Megan, Cheryl, Catherine and Delanie.
We love Jim and will keep him alive through our memories of him.
Calling hours were held on Monday, November 14 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 11a.m. at St. Alphonsus church.
Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. We will miss him every day. Fly high, Jim!
