John Alton Theriault, 81, formerly of Tupper Lake, died on Friday, October 7, 2016 in Vancouver, WA where he resided with his loving wife Vivian of 61 years.
Born in Hudson, N.Y. on October 11, 1935, he was the son of Samuel and Loretta (Miner) Theriault.
He married Vivian Mary Garrow on May 15, 1955.
John served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1981, serving in Okinawa, Japan from 1961 to 1963 and the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He retired with 26 years of service as SGM.
John was a federal government OPM investigator for ten years and professor of Business Management at Clark Community College for ten years.
John is survived by his wife, Vivian, three sons, John Walter (Bonnie) of Vancouver WA; Alton Allen (Kim) of Justin TX; Jerry Isaac (Yuphapron “Anna”) of Olympia, WA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Sam, Jimmy, Glen and Rocky and four sisters, Jeanne, Sally, Charlotte and Nancy.
He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Loretta and two sisters, Joanne and Linda.
