It’s flea market, craft sale weekend here again
By Dan McClelland
The Tupper Lake Municipal Park is expected to again be the place for great deals and active selling when Tupper Lake’s Lisa Reed returns a three-day Flea Market and Craft Sale to the spacious place.
There will be antiques for sale, collectibles of all kinds, the great creations of talented crafters, vendors of all sorts and good food.
The event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9a.m. to 6p.m. each day.
For decades the annual flea market and craft fair was a center stage in the park on the third weekend of every August. It was sponsored for most of its life here by the local chapter Order or Eastern Star and was eventually turned over to the Tupper Lake Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge, which ran it for almost a decade.
When the local Masonic lodge saw a dramatic decrease in membership, the Saranac Lake lodge ran it for the past several years.
After an absence last year, Tupper Lake’s Lisa Reed has stepped up to carry the popular event forward with the support of a group of local crafters. Lisa and her group have staged fairs at the former Holy Ghost Academy in recent years.
