Drop off your old eye glasses at Community Bank
Customers of Tupper Lake’s Community Bank have an excellent opportunity to clean out their drawers of old glasses and send them to people in need around the world. Long known for its collection of eye glasses for the impoverished of third world countries around the world, the Tupper Lake Lions Club was invited by the local bank this month to set up a collection booth in the lobby where eye glasses can be dropped off. Flanking this month’s local business and community organization table in the bank lobby were Assistant Manager Caroline Sass (left) and Manager Christine Mozdzier. In recent years Lions boB and Sioux Collier have spearheaded the ongoing program and on at least one occasion have used Sioux’s brother, Tom Russell, of Clifton Park and Trout River, and a frequent guest in Tupper Lake, to transport glasses to the Albany Eye Bank, for redistribution around the world. Each month the bank invites local businesses and local organizations to advertise their products in the lobby, and the local Lions this week were hoping to enjoy the privilege through the end of May.
