No surprises in Piercefield election
There were three uncontested races in the Town of Piercefield last week.
For the position of town supervisor Joe Denis, a Democrat, received 32 votes of the 58 votes cast. There were 13 write-in votes.
Although he was re-elected Mr. Denis had resigned his position in September, but his name still remained on the ballot. It will be up to the remaining members of the town board to select a successor.
Mr. Denis served as supervisor of Piercefield for about two years.
Paige Phillips, running on the “Blue Moon” independent line won all the votes (45) in the votes cast for her position as town clerk.
Councilwoman Carol Dimond, a Democrat, was re-elected to another term in office when she managed 49 of the 69 votes cast. There were 10 write-ins in that vote.
