New scoreboard installed, awaiting new season

As winter turns to spring in coming months and the baseball season returns to the infield of the Tupper Lake stadium, spectators will have a brand new place to find out the innings, the outs, the strikes and the scores, among other things.
The new scoreboard arrived in the outfield of the ball park during the week of December 16- and was mounted on the six foot high metal poles atop concrete piers that were installed there earlier this winter.
The pier sites were excavated by Kentile Excavating and the sub-surface piers were poured by Northwood Concrete. The village’s electric department wired the new board.
“They all did a great job,” DPW Superintendent Bob Degrace said of the collective labors at the December village board meeting.
On the week it was installed earlier this month the village’s DPW removed the snowbank along the park’s fence to give the contractor access to the site.
The new scoreboard was purchased by the village with grant funds.
