Another successful pre-Christmas distribution of toys

In keeping with a proud tradition of giving to those less fortunate the Tupper Lake Kiwanis Club was out in force Saturday morning to tackle the distribution of dozens of gift baskets to children and families around town. The Kiwanis Castle of Toys had its roots in Dan and Issy Cassel’s toy drive and distribution decades ago. These photos show some of the activity around the VFW Post 3120 that morning. The popular local post is headquarters for the toy drive each year and just before Christmas our local North Pole is filled with goodies in a couple of the second floor rooms. From top left going clockwise: Kiwanian Lisa Jones and her favorite Santa, Kiwanians Juli Dukett and Mary Kay Strack checking their lists twice, Santa loading up his sleigh for the day and Mrs. Dukett getting a hand loading from a local volunteer, Carol Fuller.
